Hello all you Rockers,

Welcome to the ABN Rock Update for the week of December 5th, 2008. This week we have four bands to share that I have personally aero-certified, and for you first time viewers and listeners I am Aero and this is Tannrr.

So I would like to call this shows format: “Fighting, Smoking, Alcohol and Identical Twins”.

So let’s get this party started with the Showcase band and a brief description.

Type of Music – Rock /Metal /Alternative

Coming to you out of: Minneapolis, Minnesota United States

Throw the Fight: Bring satisfaction through hard work and heavy lyrics, this act is heavy and aggressive, and knows how to throw down. You’re in for some amazing guitar riffs, catchy melodies and powerful energy. For a debut CD, I was shocked and astounded upon the first listen. They have shared the stage with “Killswitch Engage” and “Rise Against” and rocked the shit out of Warped 2007. I see these guys as a 9 course meal for the ears and an ingredient of pure success. Buy the CD and see for yourself!

My favorite songs are: “His Blood, My Hands” and “Into the Fire”

2. Editors

Type of Music – Indie/ Alternative / Rock

Coming to you out of: United Kingdom

Editors: have gone through 3 name changes and the present needs no editing, this quartet act was formed back in 2002 and if U2, R.E.M, and The Strokes had a child together this would most likely be the “Editors”. After a few listens they will definitely grow on you with the pulsing guitars and strong lyrics. I am a bit surprised they are not so well known in the US. “Smiths” vocals are simply amazing. Even though they may not be truly original and influential, I highly recommend them and the passion they share in their music.

My favorite songs are: “Bones” and “Weight of the World”

3. The Whiskey Thieves

Type of Music - Rock /Funk/ Blues

Coming to you out of: San Francisco, California United States

The Whiskey Thieves: spawned in 2006 and have developed an old and new sound that is awing audiences on the West Coast and soon beyond the horizon. These guys are fun, serious and ready to rock. They have played with the Doobie Brothers, Robert Cray and Los Lobos to name a few. The few times I have spoken with Cody the on the vox, I am still amazed at that voice when he sings. This CD is a must have, but seeing these guys live is a true treasure. Just remember to bring plenty of Whiskey!

My favorite songs are: “Almost Time” and “Draggin’ Me Down”

4. Tegan and Sara

Type of Music – Indie/ Pop/ Alternative

Coming to you out of: Vancouver/Montreal, Canada

Tegan and Sara: may be slightly startlingly dark in ways, yet characteristically vibrant, the Quin Girls are hot in more ways than one. They are a mature duo that is catchy, and serious with purely stylistic elements. They have shared the stage with greats such as “The Killers’, “Neil Young” and “Cake” to name a few. Like I said in my intro no hard-on required but I know these two cause plenty of wet panties across the globe and will continue selling out shows. Get that CD cause the next ones not planned out till late 2009 and I can only imagine the masterpiece it will be as well.

My favorite songs are: “The Con” and “Back in your head”

Bash: Fat Boy George, admits to hand-cuffing a male escort and beating him a little bit for suspecting him from hacking his computer, but never intended on killing him. - So what do you do with the wack job? Toss him in prison with hundreds of horny men? It would be like sending a kid into the candy store! I guess toss him in a women's prison -- that would be hell to Boy George.
